Daily Prayer for Pride Month

Today celebrates Jesus’ ascent to heaven. It also kicks off ‘Pride’, a month of celebrating our descent into sexual chaos. This impacts us all. A friend of mine bemoaned the ‘Bingo-in-Drag’ contest sponsored this month by his company.
Jesus promised in His absence to pour out a superabundance of His Spirit. Let the River flow through you to face every life-defying expression of ‘Pride.’ I invite you to pray this prayer with me daily throughout the month.:
‘Dear Jesus, give us grace to endure Pride Month once more. Forgive those who honor what mocks You and Your image in humanity; for ‘the wicked freely strut about when what is vile is honored among men’ (Ps. 12:8). Expose our ‘orthodox’ hypocrisies and cloak us in Your mercy. Protect us from contempt and free us to travail for broken lives who evangelize falsely. Defend those most vulnerable and the faithful who surround them.’
"a month of celebrating our descent into sexual chaos."
Indeed. And the "descent" is becoming so disgusting that even members of the gay community are repulsed.
Gays say they are not broken, but talk to any police constable whose district includes gay town. He'll tell you the truth of the disproportionate police calls there of mental illness calls, suicides, and domestic violence!
Happy Pride Andrew!
Lord, give us grace and wisdom to know how to respond in ways that honor You and draw the broken to You.
Amen!
